Why we created the SkillsTx Education Learning Series.
As well as being a SFIA Global Accredited Partner, offering our SkillsTx SaaS platform and a range of professional services both in-house and through our network of partners around the world, SkillsTx are also a Global SFIA Training Provider, accredited by the SFIA Foundation. We’re told that we deliver more accredited SFIA training than all of the other SFIA Training Providers combined, and have done for several years, through both the BSMimpact and SkillsTx brands.
Traditionally the training has been delivered either online or in the classroom. Covid-19 has moved everything online, and also expanded the blended learning and self-paced options alongside the instructor-led training sessions.
We have an extensive range of training, representing a significant volume of knowledge, experience, and best practice guidance. We have found that the majority of organizations buy training or professional services support, or a mix of both, as this helps them to maximise the value they get from using SFIA and SkillsTx. However, as traditional training is charged on a per person basis, and delivered live by a trainer, they tend to seek to minimise the number of people put through training. This may seem to make sense financially, but means there are fewer people in the organization with good knowledge and training, and this can sometimes constrain the value realization. So we decided to restructure our model, and include training within the licence cost, making the training material available to everyone with a SkillsTx licence/login, and at the same time recognising the trend towards self-paced online and blended training – so people can consume what they need, whenever they need it. This has the benefit of making the training much more scalable, supporting people who want to move at a different speed (including those who have English as a second language), and also reducing the overall cost for the organization.
Of course, our training is still available on a chargeable basis for anyone without a SkillsTx licence, or for those who prefer instructor-led delivery. However, we would encourage you to do the calculation and confirm how much money is saved overall through our new SaaS pricing structure including training.
